I recently acquired the RUGCEL WINCH 12V DC Electric Portable Utility Winch (TK4500) and am extremely impressed with its performance. With a 4500 lb pulling capacity, this winch is perfect for my off-road adventures and towing needs.

Strong Pulling Power & Durable Build:
This winch is built like a tank! The 4500 lb (2041 kg) pulling capacity is more than enough for my ATV and utility needs. The synthetic rope is tough and durable, much easier to handle than steel cables, and hasn’t shown any signs of wear after several uses. The included steel mounting plate is also very sturdy and holds up well under heavy load.

Integrated Hawse Fairlead & Safety:
The integrated hawse fairlead helps guide the rope smoothly, which is essential for keeping the line in good condition and ensuring safe operation. I appreciate this extra safety feature, especially when dealing with heavy loads in rough conditions.

Wireless Remote Convenience:

I have a rugcel tk 4500 suitcase winch and I broke one side off the spool. I am just looking to replace the spool and it’s impossible. So I would not recommend.

I’m impressed with the build quality of this, and how it is all integrated into the case. While I don’t have continuous need for a winch in the traditional sense of vehicle recovery or tree work, I plan on using this for equipment maintenance, while having it around if another need arises. This is one of those tools that I will find uses for that I didn’t anticipate.

I am adding some mounts to the ceiling of my shed where I can hang this and use the remote to raise and lower the cable. I’ll then attach it to my tractor, or snow blower, or generator to lift them up for oil changes, tire changes, or other maintenance needs where I currently muscle them onto blocks or balance them on a floor jack. All of my equipment is under 800lbs, so well within the capacity of this.

This will store out of the way as it will be hanging from the ceiling but accessible with a couple pins if I need it somewhere else.

I paired it with an AC to DC converter and used the cables that came with that, so I didn’t run into the issues others have with the power cables, though I’m glad they pointed them out so I’m aware and can prepare the cables for use outside of my shed.

As a first responder, I drive a truck for work and have wanted to add a winch without a permanent installation. This portable setup caught my eye, and I’m glad I gave it a try!

First, the winch comes packaged in a sturdy box that highlights all its features, making it an impressive gift. It’s well-padded inside, protecting the winch during shipping but enough about the box.
Here’s what I love about the winch:

The winch comes in a durable hard plastic case, complete with a handle, which I didn’t even realize would be so useful until I had it. Weighing 26.6 lbs, it’s easy to carry, and the case has room for additional straps or a snatch block/pulley. The kit includes two 8-foot heavy-duty straps rated at 8,000 lbs, along with two 20,000 lb D-shackles, allowing for flexible mounting configurations to any object.

The 3/16-inch, 50-foot rope included is strong and easy to handle, although I may upgrade to a 75-foot rope for extended reach. The setup can mount to almost any object—even a tree—as a secure point. I also appreciate the handheld remote and wireless remote with a 100-foot range. My kit surprisingly included two wireless remotes, and while the manual doesn’t cover the wireless remote, instructions are conveniently printed on the back.

This winch will get a lot of use during my 12-hour shifts and even off-duty for jobs like pulling down trees. It’s incredibly versatile, easy to move from one vehicle to another, and can even be used without a permanent installation. Highly recommended!

The first thing I asked myself is how the heck is a winch built to be in a portable plastic case without getting damaged. Well here’s the deal ..... RUGCEL WINCH 12V DC Electric Portable Utility Winch 4500lb/2041kg Single Line Pull is essentially built on a steel plate that everything else works around. This is an awesome and portable design.
I could go on about all the key points and features but they are pretty well high-lighted in the products advertisement. Realistically this winch does not need improvement, however I very much desired jumper cables on the battery connection end for true portability so I modified mine.
I love the portability and we carry RUGCEL WINCH 12V DC Electric Portable Utility Winch 4500lb/2041kg Single Line Pull on the truck or in the RV. Even though it’s well contained the storage size can be a bit tricky depending on your ride. This is one of the best emergency recovery devices I can imagine having. I am thrilled with the purchase and have already told friends about it. A great gift idea!

This is great!! I really like the concept and design of this portable winch. You can mount it permanently if you want and it comes in a nice case so its protected to keep it lasting longer. I like that its portable because I don’t have any place to mount it. I use it to pull cars onto a trailer and it works great. Heavy duty thick steel metal. Comes with accessories to get any job done. Simple up/down toggle switch.

I have a Honda Pilot and there is no way that I am strapping a winch to the front end of it! But from time to time I actually need a winch, so this Tank winch is a game changer. It comes in a case and I can anchor the unit to my car, a tree, or any solid object. There were several times that I needed to put tension on a tree limb to guide its fall but I was not able to.
I am beyond impressed with its quality and build strength. I love that it is portable and in a briefcase so that it can go anywhere. This is so much nicer than anything that you could put on the front of any truck or SUV. You could also use this for a boat or emergency situations, but you do need to remember that you will need to hook this up to a car battery or lithium ion battery for it to work.
I read where a person had problems with the terminals being too small to hook to their battery. New terminals for this unit with alligator clips are less than $10 if you have an issue hooking it up to your battery. For me this technology is such a game changer because of how portable it is and the way the I can use it. I really love it and highly recommend it!

Received this as a gift. It works for the most part but there were issues.

1. (NOW RESOLVED) – for the remote controls to operate you must hold down both UP and DOWN buttons for 2-3 seconds to turn the remote ON. The light will indicate it is on. The same operation turns OFF the remote when you are done. There were no instructions saying this in the package, but the customer service people were able to provide them.

2. The battery cable ends have a hole meant to connect to the screw post on a deep cycle battery. The holes are too small for me DieHard group 24-M AGM battery. I had to widen them with a drill bit.

3. Where the battery cables connect to the outside of the case, the negative terminal was loose from the inside and I had to tighten it. Not a huge deal but it speaks to a Q.C. issues.
